History

Coleman Behavioral Health began serving people in Medina County in 2004 when Northland Place opened its doors to serve county residents. Coleman Professional Services, the parent company of Coleman Behavioral Health, has a long history of providing residential services in Portage County, beginning in 1982 with the opening of its first group home and expanding with more group homes, supported living sites and apartments over the past twenty-five years.



Coleman Professional Services has been acknowledged at the state level by the Department of Development and the Department of Mental Health. The organization has been recognized at the national level by the Department of Housing and Urban Development as being a leader in the field in housing development and operations for persons with mental illness.
