History

Coleman Professional Services, the parent company of Coleman Behavioral Health and Coleman Employment Services, was founded in 1978 as the Kevin Coleman Center in Portage County. Father Kevin Coleman, the namesake of Coleman Professional Services, was an ordained priest and counselor who worked tirelessly in Portage County in the 1960s and 1970s serving those in need of counseling. Since that time, Coleman Professional Services has grown and now provides a multitude of services in Portage, Stark, Summit, and Trumbull Counties.

Coleman Professional Services began providing employment services in Stark County in 2002. We expanded our services in 2005, when an existing mental health center shut its doors to thousands of clients, and we were asked to partner with other behavioral health organizations to transition those clients into our care.  Since that time, Coleman Behavioral Health and Coleman Employment Services - Stark County has been serving the needs of the greater Stark County community.
